I’m one RAD mom

I am a mom of four amazing daughters. I have been married to my husband for four years. Ours is a blended family. It’s not perfect, but none is.

My stepdaughter and youngest has been diagnosed with reactive attachment disorder (RAD). We don’t hold it against her. We just try to hold her. I make mistakes. I lose my cool. That’s what makes me human.

My family and my faith are my everything.

I grew up on the west coast and the east and the gulf. The beach is where I feel the most like me. Gypsy by nature, don’t expect us to sit still long. It’s nothing for us to move cross country with four little ladies in tow and only the clothes on our backs. I believe it teaches adaptability. They have learned so much in the last few years.

I have created this space to share and learn. I’ll try not to share when I am angry; that sounds disastrous. I hope to share what works with us. I’ll share my failures and mistakes and what I learn from them in hopes someone facing the same challenges can be helped.
